we are an "orange" church

Have you ever wondered why we call ourselves an Orange Church? Wondered what we mean by "partnering with parents" and targeting families rather than just doing ministry to individuals? Check out this video that will help you understand the philosophy behind Woodland's strategic vision for reaching FAMILIES with Jesus, not just kids and/or parents. Collectively, we can do more together! Have more questions? Ideas? We'd love to hear them. Simply email Mike at mike@gowoodland.com

FAMILY MINISTRY TIMELINE

As a parent, understanding the phase your kid or student is in changes the way you affirm, discipline, and connect with them. With help from our friends at Orange, we've put together this timeline map to help you have a better sense of what your kid or student needs most in their life right now. Whether you should EMBRACE, ENGAGE, AFFIRM, or MOBILIZE them to help them trust Jesus more, this graphic will help guide you in being the best parent you can be! For a larger view of the timeline, simply click on the image below. Hey, it may not even be a bad idea to download, print and place it somewhere you'll see it regularly.

FREE RESOURCES FOR PARENTS

Who doesn't love free stuff? Well, we're a bit partial in Family Ministry at Woodland, but we think the only thing better than free stuff is free stuff that helps you grow in your relationship with God and with your kids. So, we decided to pull back the curtain on many of the parenting tools we use to help you win at parenting.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL KIT

Considering how the past 2 years have gone, it’s likely that the school year will be unpredictable, too. But one thing is certain—back to school means a new rhythm for the entire family.

In all the chaos and adjustment, it can be difficult for families to create intentional moments to connect in meaningful ways. This worksheet is designed to help you do just that—be intentional about the things that matter to your family during the 2021-2022 school year.

PRAYER CALENDAR

This 30-Day Prayer Calendar was created as a tool to help parents pray daily for their family. Each day consists of a prayer prompt. While there are “weekly” themes, if you miss days in between, that’s okay! You can simply pick up where you left off.

Use it once for 30 days or use it to create a cycle of 30 days that you repeat over and over as you continue to pray for your family throughout the year.

work kids can do

As parents ourselves, we all know how important it is to teach your kids and students responsibility, but mowing the lawn unsupervised may not be the best idea for a 3 year old. With that in mind, we've included a Phase-specific list of age appropriate chores. We've also included a chore chart for you to download and print to use at home.
